About
The 13th International Conference on Spontaneous Coherence in Excitonic Systems (ICSCE-13) will take place in Las Palmas de Gran Canaria, in the Canary Islands, during the third week of January 2026 (January 12–16). This event, organised by CNR-NANOTEC in Lecce, Italy, continues the well-established tradition of gathering researchers focused on quantum collective phenomena in various electronic excitations in solids, along with related effects in other physical systems.
With an emphasis on the broad concept of spontaneous coherence, ICSCE-13 will feature a diverse range of topics:
- Bose-Einstein condensates of excitons and exciton-polaritons
- Advances in the physics of quantum fluids of light and matter
- Topological, coherent, and universal features in non-equilibrium condensation
- Nonlinear dynamics, turbulence, and thermodynamic properties of polaritons
- Excitons and exciton-polaritons in novel 2D materials, perovskites, and organic systems
- Photonic crystals, metamaterials, and waveguides
- Optical, quantum, and neuromorphic computing with light-based systems
- Phonon-mediated coupling and impurity effects in excitonic systems
- Interactions, transport, and collective phenomena in dipolar and indirect excitons
- Alternative platforms, including atomic lattices and quantum simulators
We look forward to welcoming you to Canary Islands for an engaging and insightful conference.

Accommodation
The ICSCE 2026 conference will take place in the heart of Las Palmas de Gran Canaria, within walking distance of two of the city’s most iconic neighborhoods: Vegueta and Triana.
Vegueta is the historic core of the city, founded in 1478 and home to colonial buildings, cobbled streets, and cultural landmarks such as the Cathedral of Santa Ana, the Casa de Colón (Christopher Columbus House), and several art museums. It is a UNESCO World Heritage candidate and offers a unique blend of history, architecture, and atmosphere. Just across the Guiniguada ravine lies Triana, originally a merchant and artisan district. Today, it is a lively area known for its elegant 19th-century architecture, boutique shops, tapas bars, and pedestrian-friendly streets. Both neighborhoods are full of character and charm, making them ideal places to stay during the conference.A variety of hotels, boutique hotels, B&Bs, and a few serviced apartments are available in the area. However, the number of rooms is limited, and January is a high-demand month, so we strongly recommend booking as early as possible to secure availability.
Hotels within a few minutes’ walking distance from the venue
